About

Oleg Loza is a Russian lyric baritone. He studied choir conducting at Gnesin’s Music College, Moscow and classic vocal studies at the Moscow State P.Tchaikovsky Conservatoire. His first professional roles were Onegin in Tchaikovsky’s “Eugen Onegin” and Marcello in Puccini’s “La Boheme” at the Moscow Conservatoire Opera Theatre.

Oleg made his international debut as Norton in “La Cambiale di Matrimonio” by G.Rossini at the Wiener Kammeroper as a guest for the Junges Ensemble of Theater an der Wien. He subsequently performed the role of Schaunard in Puccini’s “La Boheme”, also at the Wiener Kammeroper. He performed this role again during a tour of the Junges Ensemble to the Het Compagnientheater, Amsterdam.

Since 2013, Oleg Loza has been a member of the International Opernstudio at Opernhaus Zurich. Roles at Opernhaus Zurich have included Uscere in Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, Deputato in Verdi’s “Don Carlo” under the baton of Fabio Luisi, Happy in “La Fanciulla del West” by G.Puccini (conductor – Marco Armiliato, director – Barrie Kosky), Perueckenmacher in “Ariadne auf Naxos” R.Strauss (conductor – Fabio Luisi). He also performed the title role of Count Robinson in “Il Matrimonio Segreto” at Theater Winterthur (conductor – Riccardo Minasi).

In 2015 Oleg Loza performed the role of Belcore in “L’elisir d’amore” by G.Donizetti at the stage of Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi.

Most recently he performed the role of Marco in “Gianni Schicchi” by G.Puccini at th stage of Teatro National de Lorraine (Nancy, France).

Competition successes include the Grand Prix at the F.Schaliapin International Singing Competition (Crimea, Russia).
